KEY-BAK was the first company to develop a retractable equipment holder in 1948. Their Super48 Series equipment holders are the most popular and widely used equipment holders by US law enforcement.
The Super48 Key Holder Series feature extreme ruggedness - The housings are made of extremely shatter and water resistant polycarbonate and the cord, made of Kevlar®, has been tested to resist tearing up to 27 kg and over one million pulls. The Super48 models also have a special locking device that allows the rope and items to be pulled out only to the front and prevents unauthorized pull-out to the rear.
The retractable belay system has a quiet retract feature. Depending on the weight of the equipment, the pull rope does not prevent it from falling to the ground when you let go, but it does prevent loss.
